Hurricane Harvey, which came ashore on August 25, 2017, as the most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years, has killed an estimated 50 people, displaced more than 1 million, destroyed hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and damaged some 200,000 homes in a path of destruction stretching for more than 300 miles. The people affected by this tragic event are our friends, neighbors, co-workers, and employees. They’re people we love, people we work with, Texans just like the rest of us. In Texas, we stand by each other and if we’re able to help, we don’t hesitate.

Spec’s Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce a plan to help employees and their families of Spec’s Family Partners that have suffered from the recent hurricane. With approval from the TABC, the Foundation may collect funds from our liquor industry to provide much needed financial support to those in our Spec’s family who have suffered damaged property and / or loss due to the worst disaster in Houston history, Hurricane Harvey.

A panel will be comprised of people completely unrelated to the industry and Spec’s to evaluate the requests and make the final decisions of how the awarded monies are to be given. Please know that Spec’s Charitable Foundation is a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
